If the child has been brought up in a loving, openly communicative environment, the relationship with parents would be a strong one.It is only when there are ongoing troubles in the relationship between parents and the child that there is a breakdown in communication.
When parents are going through difficulties in their own relationship, the child sometimes develops guilt. The child can hold himself or herself responsible for the breakdown in relationship between the parents. This needs to be explained to the child, who won’t speak out this guilt.
The teenage years are emotionally sensitive years to the outside world. For the first time the child realizes his or her position in society.Friends suddenly become more important than parents. It is during this time that the relationship between children and parents is tested. If the bond with parents is strong, the child will not be influenced by the drug and alcohol culture. If the bond is weaker, the child will end up with problems.
During such times, one of the effective ways to deal with the problems is to discuss the problem with the child. As parents, you will need to discuss the results of each choice and then leave the final decision to the child.Forcing parental will on children is counterproductive (适得其反的), especially at this age.Forcing parental will at this time will stop communicating and then you will not know what is happening in their life.Whatever the problem is, the child need never be made to feel lonely. The moment that happens, the possibility of serious self-harm is raised.
Any problem at this age can be dealt with by a flexible (灵活的) way by parents.Discuss things calmly.Leave the decision to the individual.Make yourself available for any help or support that the child hopes. The child will feel comfortable when allowed the freedom of choice. If parents have trouble with their relationship, the child __________ .According to the text, what will lead the child to get into trouble?Which of the following ways can help solve the children’s problem? The underlined word “forcing” can be replaced with the word“________ .”What is the text mainly about?

Smoking in indoor public places including public working places, public transport vehicles and some other special outdoor working places has been banned(禁止)in China since January 2011.Let’s look at the following advantages of banning smoking.
First, banning smoking will not only help in saving smokers from health problems and diseases, but will also be good for passive(被动)smokers. When the smoker is smoking in a restaurant, the people around him are sure to breathe in the smoke and suffer from the diseases an active smoker gets. If smoking is banned, spread of these diseases can be controlled.
Next, banning smoking will put stress on smokers to give up. Since a smoker is prevented from smoking, he will learn how to live without smoking for long hours. When a smoker doesn’t smell or see anybody around him smoking, it might reduce his wish to smoke too. As a result, people have to give up smoking.
Smoking in public places influences non-smokers to start smoking, especially adolescents. When teens see people around them smoking, they will follow them easily. Thus the number of teen smokers will increase. Also asthma(哮喘)and other problems are often seen in children living around smokers. So if it is banned, these places will become safe for children and teenagers.
Looking from the economic point of view, smoking should be banned to increase work productivity(生产率).Employees(雇员)who smoke usually take breaks to smoke while working. So the number of hours they put in their work is smaller.
If you see from the environment point of view, smoking should be banned. Smoking causes air pollution. If it is banned, it will help keep the environment from getting worse________doesn’t belong to a non-smoking placeThe second paragraph mainly wants to tell us ______How many advantages of banning smoking are mentioned in this passage?According to the text, the underlined word “adolescents” means ______Which of the following statements in NOT true?

Will it matter if you don’t take your breakfast? A short time ago, a test was given in the US. People of different ages, from 12 to 83, were asked to have a test. During the test, these people were given all kinds of breakfast, and sometimes they got no breakfast at all. Scientists wanted to see how well their bodies worked when they had eaten different kinds of breakfasts.
The results show that if a person eats a right breakfast, he or she will work better than if he or she has no breakfast. If a student has fruit, egg, bread and milk before going to school, he will learn more quickly and listen more carefully in class.
The result is opposite to what some people think. Having no breakfast will not help you lose weight(减轻体重).This is because people become so hungry at noon that they eat too much for lunch. Walk to school every day? That will work, but not if you like sleep in. If you like bad smells and crowding(拥挤), the bus might be your best Choice. But why not a bicycle? A bicycle will get you there faster than your feet and will save your money.
This is why you see more bicycles than any other kind of transportation in China, about 500 million of them. That’s close to one for every two people in the whole country. But if you survey your class at school, you may will find a higher rate(比率).
Bicycles became popular because they are fun for people and at the same time help develop a strong body. Peter is a sixth-grader at Woodland Primary School. He is only 12 years old but has been smoking for three years. John, 15, is a Junior 2 student at Woodland Secondary School. He began smoking four years ago. “Smoking is part of my life,” John said. Peter and John are not those boys’ real names. But their problem, smoking, is a very real problem. In many countries, smoking is becoming a bigger problem for young people. Most smokers start in their teens or earlier.
A study of 8,000 London students shows that smoking is a problem for many British kids. More than 21% of middle school students and 6 % of primary school pupils said they smoked. “If young people start smoking early, it will be very hard for them to give up later on,” said a professor.
Every year, about four million people die because of smoking. And if people keep smoking, that number will go up to about ten million a year by 2030, the World Health Organization (WHO) says. Andrew Engel was puzzled. He was sitting in class, but had no idea what the other students were talking about. He had done his homework, paid attention to lectures, and taken notes, but nothing was familiar. “Everyone is so much cleverer than I am,” he thought. It was a strange feeling, as he was always a good student in high school.
He felt even more puzzled a few days later. He got lost on his way to his favorite cinema. What’s worse, he began having trouble finding the right words when speaking. He asked, “What’s for dinner, Mom?” after he had just eaten. Poor Andrew, he was only 15!
His parents were worried and took Andrew to see a doctor. A brain scan(扫描) made it clear: Andrew had a malignant brain tumor(恶性脑肿瘤) . It was pressing on the part of the brain that makes new memory. He should be operated on as soon as possible. Andrew was
scared!
Doctors removed the tumor, but Andrew’s memory was still poor. He was told he would probably never go back to school. Andrew was eager to enter a university, but it seemed that his dream wouldn’t come true.
“Even though they told me this, I knew I wanted to go back to school,” Andrew said. “I wanted to get my memory back.”
Andrew began by auditing(旁听) an English class at a nearby school. In class, he took notes carefully and read his notes several times a day, then typed them again and again. He studied twelve hours a day, seven days a week. He worked ten times harder than other students. In 2007, at age 29, he graduated from a local university.
